Collaboratively written by the Center for Information Technology Leadership (C!TL), a non-profit organization supported by Partners Healthcare and a strategic alliance with HIMSS.

InterComponentWare Inc., along with MicroSoft, Google, and Kaiser Permanente, provided unrestricted funding for research to examine the value proposition of implementing personal health records (PHRs) throughout the U.S.  The study also examines the cost-benefit of a variety of infrastructure, administrative, and clinical PHR functions.
