Southern Tier HealthLink NY (STHL) has contracted with InterComponentWare Inc. (ICW), a global leader in eHealth technology, to provide key indexing and integration components for its Health Information Exchange (HIE). ICW will implement its Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), Enterprise Master Provider Registry (EMPR) and Integration Platform (IPF) across 6 counties, 470,000 residents, 8 hospitals, and over 800 physicians in central New York State.
Christina Galanis, Executive Director for STHL, comments, “We are very pleased with our selection of ICW. Their technology will allow us to aggregate and securely share information in a manner that ultimately will improve the quality of healthcare in our region.”
Jeremy Coote, CEO of ICW Inc., notes, “New York State is taking a lead position in the country’s dialogue on health information exchange. As ARRA funding is being made available to the states, we anticipate many organizations just getting started will closely watch New York’s progress. We are pleased to be working with forward-looking groups such as STHL.”
